Back story on a major business
Paper details:
Please choose a major business or organization to write about for this project. Some examples are Disney, Apple, Southwest Airlines, and Google. Please choose an organization you are interested in learning more about. You will conduct research on this organization, which you will use to complete the project requirements. Sources may include the Internet (company website, for example), newspapers, books, the textbook, and journals. You will need to use at least three sources.
Your paper will include the following elements:
Title page, including the title of your project, your name, instructor name, course name and number, and the date you are submitting the paper (2.5 points).
Name, description of products or services they provide, and mission statement of the company (10 points).
One or two paragraphs summarizing the history of the company to current times. Include some of the major events, which have affected the company (10 points).
Describe an ethical decision this company has made in the past or is considering making now. Why did they make this decision, or why do they plan to? In your opinion, was (is) this a good or poor ethical decision? Be sure to share the reasons for your opinion (10 points).
Describe the organization’s strengths and weaknesses, using examples to support your ideas (10 points).
Describe some of the opportunities you see for this organization. What are some potential threats? Include examples (10 points).
7. What aspect of this organization to you find especially intriguing? Some possible areas for discussion include the marketing and distributing strategies; the corporate culture; managing information; production and operations processes; or management/leadership; You are not limited to these, but please choose ONE topic we have learned about in class (10 points).
8. Write about the positive or negative effects the current state of the economy has had on the company in recent years. Provide relevant examples. Explain what you were able to learn from the financial statements (10 points).
