Integrity and Leadership

Integrity and Leadership
Order Description
While Abraham Lincoln “2nd Inaugural Address, March 4th, 1865” (page 548) and John F. Kennedy “Inaugural Address, Jan 20th, 1961” (page 541) were superior national leaders, everyday persons also take on the responsibilities and risks of leadership, as illustrated by Robert, the blind man, in Raymond Carvers “Cathedral” (page 436). On the other hand, LT Jimmy Cross in Tim O’Briens “The Things They Carried” (Page 482) believes he has neglected his duties as the leader of his platoon.
If you were conducting a leadership workshop for your college or local community, how could you use these four individuals to illustrate key points of your presentation? That other examples-contemporary or historical, fictional or factual-might you use to illustrate leadership qualities? One other reference can be an internet source, one can be an article. The pages listed above are out of Reading Literature and Writing Argument, 6th ed, Pearson.
