PRODUCT OR TECHNOLOGY ANALYSIS
Order Description
The development of standards for green, sustainable, and (increasingly) healthy and resilient buildings has stimulated the development of new and redesign of existing products. In this semester-long assignment, students are to identify and study the attributes of materials and technologies that they would encounter in a real estate development project. In the first weeks of the semester, each student should become familiar with product categories and product information sources in order to identify either a product type or technology that will be the foundation for analysis over the course of the rest of the semester.
Over the course of the semester, class lectures and discussions, assigned readings, and other homework assignments will introduce students to concepts, methodologies and practices that will inform each student’s project. Each student is responsible for developing a framework that is specific to his/her topic.
DUE:
• A study that recommends and justifies the choice of product(s) that was evaluated for use in a sustainable real estate development project.
o Memo of 1,500 words maximum,
o Presentation with supporting visual documentation of no more than 8 minutes.
