First responders (police, fire, emergency services) and those who work in victim services are not immune to PTSD, burnout, and stress. Research resources and services for professionals who are exposed to trauma on a daily basis. Describe factors that make and do not make this special population different from victims of crime. Provide an example of a first responder or victim advocate who openly discusses struggles with PTSD and coping strategies they use to build resiliency. In addition, describe strategies that help you personally cope with stressful situations (e.g., job interviews, taking an exam, or other stressful events).
