OUTLINE FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE SYSTEMS ANALYSIS AND DESIGN REPORT
(PROGRESSIVE – I WILL BE ADDING TO THE OUTLINE AS WE PROGRESS THROUGH THE COURSE)
Students: Most elements of the report will have to be researched using various resources, such as the online CCAC library (www.ccac.edu/library), company websites, the internet, as well as your textbook. Use your creativity and imagination in order to complete the report.
Be sure to include all of the references used in the References area of the report.

CASE STUDY SCENARIO
A used car owner/dealer is beginning to have difficulties keeping track of business operations, car and truck inventory, as well as car and truck sales and realizes that it is time to computerize all of the business operations. The used car dealership has a variety of quality used cars and trucks for sale.
Currently, there are three full-time professional sales associates employed at the current store that the used car owner manages. There is also another full-time professional employed by the owner to keep track of all of the paperwork. This includes data and information for current and past customers and their purchases (sales), payroll/taxes, current inventory, as well as new car and truck purchases/sales (inventory). Additionally, the user car dealership employs a full-time mechanic that advises the owner on new car and truck purchases, as well as keeps paper records as to the work done on each vehicle prior to placing it on the sales lot.
The current manual system needs to be computerized to handle all of the various departments of the used car dealership. Additionally, the store owner will be expanding with at two more used car dealerships within the state so the computerized information system must be able to handle the data and information as well.
Once the computer information system has been computerized, the used car owner would like to have a website developed, as well as a mobile appin order to expand the business online.
.
• Add any further assumptions regarding the case study here, if any. This will most likely be added to as the students/groupprogresses through the systems analysis and design phases.
• Include any graphics or pictures of the fictitious company for the current information system under study, if possible. Please do not include any references to a current company or organization.
• Inclue any other items you feel areimportant to include on the case study scenario.
RESEARCH BASIS
At least three articles must be summarized here and they should provide a research basis for the systems analysis case study. The research articles must be based on systems analysis and design and technology implementations as well. The articles must come from articles or journals found at the online CCAC library. The articles should not be more than two years old. You can use and copy and paste the two articles you created in the first set of assignments here.
For the rest of the outline items below, there should be at least one paragraph prior to the item listed to explain the item. The items below will require each student to use the internet, websites, etc., Be sure to include all of the references in the references area of the report.
SYSTEM SERVICE REQUEST (SSR)
• Include the problem statements regarding the current business information system.
• Include the general objective, the specific objectives of the new or modified computer business information system, as well as the benefits of the new system.
• Include your name on the SSR.
• If a form is created using various software (such as a template from a software product like Microsoft Word), be sure to copy and paste the contents of it into the report, as well as include (attach) it as well.
PROJECT SCOPE STATEMENT (PSS)
• Include the General Project Information, Problem/Opportunity Statement, Project Objectives, Project Description, Project Deliverables, as well as the Estimated Project Duration.
• Include your name on the PSS.
• If a form is created using various software (such as a template from a software product like Microsoft Word), be sure to copy and paste the contents of it into the report, as well as include (attach) it as well.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROJECT MANAGEMENT
(Estimated)
• Expected Time Calculations Worksheet for the new system
• Sequence of Activities that are needed for the case study
o Activities and Preceding Events
o Gantt Chart and Network Diagram
HARDWARE/SOFTWARE/COMMUNICATIONS AND RELATED COSTS
Include detailed information here as to specifics on hardware, software, communications, and any other related costs here. This aspect of the report will require each student to research solutions to the case study project. Be sure to include all of the references used in the References area of the report. You could include alternative systems and then conduct a feasibility analysis on them but I am just going to have you chose the best systembased upon your research.
PROCESS MODELING
Include the DFD (Data Flow Diagram) Context Diagram here. For the DFD context diagram, see Figure 6-5 in your textbook for an example. Include a narrative describing the DFD diagram as well.
CONCEPTUAL DATA MODELING
Include the E-R (Entity-Relationship) diagramhere. Include a narrative describing the E-R (Entity-Relationship) Diagram here as well.
ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY STUDY
Include the following worksheets (copy and paste each one into the report) into the report. This aspect of the report will require each student to research solutions to the case study project. Provide at least one paragraph explaining the content of each.
• Tangible Benefits Worksheet
• One-Time Costs Worksheet
• Recurring Costs Worksheet
• Present Value Calculations of the new proposed system
• Break-Even Analysis Graph
CRITERIA/WEIGHT TABLES (GROUP WORK ASSIGNMENT)
Provide at least one paragraph explaining the content of each. Be sure to include all of the references used to create them in the References area of the report.
