Assignment Introduction:
For the final project of this course, students will apply the principles and practices they have studied and integrated into their own approach to conflict management to a specific case of conflict in a ministry setting. Their approach should be biblically grounded and theologically reflective and define a constructive strategy that facilitates healing and transformation.
Tasks:
This 10 page paper (2,500–words) will include four sections:
1.Introduction: A 1–2 page introduction which displays the student’s general understanding of the nature and cause(s) of conflict and his/her succinct philosophy of conflict management.
2.Ministry Conflict Case: A 2-page description of a ministry conflict for this case study. The conflict should be presented anonymously with enough detail to demonstrate the complexity of the situation as well as the people involved.
3.Conflict Case Study Analysis: A determination of the nature and causes of conflict featured in the case study, analysis of the stages of the conflict’s development, and application of the systems approach to the case study.
4.Strategy of Mediation: Specific steps and recommendations for mediating this conflict which will create the greatest potential for peace, reconciliation, and healing.
The paper will be assessed for the following features:
